Strategies for sustainable development and innovation in the focus of a round-table on urban planning in Tashkent
The round-table " Integrated urban planning: quality investments, environment and comfort for people" brought together leading urbanists, architects and representatives of the business community to discuss approaches to urban development in Tashkent. The event was moderated by Sergey Riabokobylko, Group Executive Partner of Commonwealth Partnership. Vladislav Boutenko, Managing Director and Senior Partner at BCG, emphasized the importance of integrating innovative solutions into urban planning to achieve sustainable urban development. He noted that integrated planning should take into account both economic and social aspects, ensuring a balance between them. İlkay Çorgundağ, Director-Architecture of Arup, discussed the application of the concept of sustainable development in Tashkent. Manuela Gatto, Director of Zaha Hadid Architects, emphasized innovative approaches to architectural design that contribute to the creation of a more comfortable and functional urban environment. She shared her experience of working on projects that combine aesthetic appeal with practicality and environmental friendliness. Takhmina Turdialieva, Director of Tatalab.uz, spoke about the importance of public participation in urban planning processes. She emphasized that active interaction with citizens helps to make urban spaces more responsive to their needs and desires. Aidyn Rakhimbayev, Chairman of BI Group Holding, shared his experience of working in Central Asia, where the company has built more than 100 thousand apartments. He discussed how investments and technology development contribute to improving the quality of life in cities and attract new investments to the region. The round-table participants came to the conclusion that in order to achieve an improved quality of life and sustainability of cities, a joint effort of all stakeholders and the introduction of advanced technologies in the urban planning process are necessary.
